Better Gardens - Organic |
Meredith has always had an interest in gardens, the
outdoors and growing plants. She determined her
career course at an early age and completed her
training in all aspects of running a nursery.
Plant propagation was a favorite task (and still
is).
During this time, she became interested in
permaculture and organic gardening. This interest
has blossomed into a desire to help other people
enjoy the health benefits and satisfaction of not
only growing their own food but also helping the
earth and local wildlife, too.
Although trained in Nursery work, she has spent most of
her working life in garden maintenance and design.
Working close to areas of native Australian bushland
has given her another interest - bush regeneration.
She completed a
Natural Area Restoration Course and has begun
restoration of the area of bushland that backs onto
her home in Sydney, Australia.
Throughout, she has continued her commitment to
permaculture and in 2005 she completed her
Permaculture Design Course at
Southern Cross
in Victoria, with
Rick and Naomi Coleman.
It is Meredith’s aim to apply permaculture in
suburban and urban situations, installing productive
home food gardens and guiding her clients through
the process of growing abundant organic fruits,
vegetables and herbs.
Future plans include being able to incorporate
appropriate medicinal herbs into clients’ gardens.
This means learning more about medicinal herbs and
their uses. To this end, she is currently studying Western Herbal Medicine.
Almost any garden,
if you
see it at just the right moment, can be confused with paradise.

There is beauty
in any garden, small and simple, or large and
elaborate. There is beauty in any plant, leaf, or
flower-even in those we choose to call "weeds".
By choosing natural
and organic gardening methods, we are not only
protecting ourselves and our families but also
promoting healthy living and a cleaner environment.
We respect humanity and nature.
We hope that we may
help people to create
Better Gardens - Organic,
and that, in doing so, they may gain pleasure, a
sense of achievement and health.
However, complete
satisfaction is never achieved
by good gardeners;
they are always striving to improve their results.
